Replacement 75mm (h) Screw-in Bed Legs

This style of 75mm high glide pad bed leg is used extensively on commercial bed frames in New Zealand and Australia. The nylon plastic used is guaranteed to be from original resin and no recycled plastic is used in its manufacture which can weaken critical areas on the castor body and glide pad  This bed leg system has been proven over many years commercial use.  A strong steel rod passes right through the body of the leg and is threaded at the top for screwing into a t/nut or Insert Screw.  Two (2) thread options have been used extensively by bed manufacturers - Imperial 5/16" and metric m8. We supply legs in both thread sizes.  The metric m8 thread size also has the option of a smaller 65mm dia. glide pad or a slightly larger 75mm dia. glide pad.

Imperial 5/16" - this size is slighly less than 8mm and has a different thread pitch to the M8

Metric M8 - this size is exactly 8mm

The Imperial 5/16" and Metric M8 sizes are very close but because of the diameter difference and different pitch used THEY WILL NOT INTERCHANGE and you cannot tell them apart by eye

TO PURCHASE REPLACEMENT CASTOR WHEEL BED LEGS YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW WHICH OF THE ABOVE TWO (2) THREAD SIZES ARE ALREADY FITTED TO THE UNDERSIDE OF YOUR BED FRAME.

To establish which thread size is already on your bed frame contact us with the BRAND of bed frame (or mattress) that you have, or you can return an existing leg to us for sizing or take either an existing bed leg (or an existing metal underframe bed fitting) to a general hardware store to establish the correct thread size in their Fasteners Dept. In this case you use the fittings already on your bed frame and need purchase the 'Leg Only' options.

An alternative is to purchase the 'Leg + Insert Screw' options and replace the existing fitting on the underside of your bed frame with the correct matching Insert Screw provided with the leg.  The new Insert Screws should go in the hole left after the removal of the existing fittings.  Worst case (if the existing hole is too big) is a new 10mm hole needs to be drilled approximately 30mm distant from the original hole to avoid splitting the timber.  Purchase of the 'Leg + Insert Screw' options is suitable for 'new build' bed frames.
